I'm in the process of refreshing my CV after period of enforced leave where I have decided returning to my "old" job is no longer feasible.

Are there any hot tips in CV writing these days? It's been about 5 years since I last wrote one but I can't find it (have since changed laptops) so am effectively starting from scratch! Annoying!

Profile at the top that communicates your experience/USP relative to the role you’re applying for. 2-3 short sentences tops that if someone reads they instantly get a sense.

I then have few bullets outlining key skills.

In my line of work it’s then work experience most recent first, followed by education/qualifications on page 2.

I then have 2 sentences about me as it’s sort of relevant.

Contact details on first page as well.

Good luck.

How annoying!
There are lots of examples online to help.
My tip would be to tailor it to each job role to suit what they are asking for!
Be open to changing it a little, often.
Good luck.

Also - I was in my last company a long time and a tip a recruiter gave me was to talk about outcomes/achievements not just what I did.

So for each job summarise your role/responsibilities then list key projects/whatever and their impact.
