I'm nosey and I wanna know what you all do.

If you work what do you do?
Are you fulfilling a childhood dream?
Do you love your job?
Are you a SAHP?

I'm a Teaching Assistant in a middle school (soon to change to the 2 tier system) I always wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl but working with SEND children makes me want to stay more working with them than going into teaching. I love my job though 😃

Talk to me

I'm a PA for 3 directors in the Travel Industry, I love it. Growing up and even now I had a fascination with planes and travel, even looked at learning to fly.

Then I met a real life pilot a couple of years ago(you can only imagine my awe at listening to him talk about his job), I was working as a PA in education at the time. He reignited my love of travel. Last year I took the plunge and changed Industry.

I have a lovely boss, who makes the job so worthwhile. The perks aren't bad either but we do work hard. I don't dread work anymore, I love my drive to the office (even if it does take me 2 hours to get back some days), and being greeted by a plane flying over when I drive past the airport on the way gives me goosebumps.

Am I fulfilling a childhood dream? No not in the way I wanted. I wanted to be a fighter pilot, vet or lawyer. Then I realised I wasn't clever enough to be a lawyer and would struggle putting an animal down. I also wear glasses which when I was growing up pilots weren't allowed to.

I work in education as a coordinator. I love working in education, the kids keep me feeling young. Yes, it's underpaid, but the job is different every day, and the holidays and weekends off help. Every job has it's ups and down.

Since I was a little girl I always thought I would either work in a school or with animals. So I guess I always knew deep down.

I work in a day service for older people, lots who have dementia.

Its a lovely job, there are high highs and low lows and often there isnt much inbetween. Some days I love it and other days I wonder how I ended up here.

I am a podiatrist.

My childhood dream was to be a doctor. So I did end up being in health. I didn't think I was clever enough to do a medical degree.

I had a couple of other careers before this and was a SAHP for a while.

I love my job now, although a lot of people's idea of hell. (work in the NHS)

I've had to leave a chef job that I absolutely loved to care for my disabled children 😩
But to be totally honest I spread myself too thin for too many years and should have done it 10 years ago

Home Help. I go to people at home, do a bit of housework, laundry, shopping, whatever they need. Occasionally, I might take someone to the hairdresser's or doctor's, or even out for lunch. It's a lovely job.

If you work what do you do?

I am a foster carer to children and babies with complex needs

Are you fulfilling a childhood dream?

Yes. I always wanted to foster or be a LINK carer. I spent many years working with children, mainly in a special school but also in a children's hospice and on a team looking after children on long term ventilation at home.

Do you love your job?

Yes, but don't ask me that when I am up for the umpteenth time in the night!

Are you a SAHP?

I was to my birth children who are now both adults
