NHS BAND 4 WAGE HELP

Hi everyone, I am currently a band 3. My wage after 2 years will be December 2023 so will go up… I was doing overtime for another department which meant my take home was more band 5 wage. But I cannot do the over time now. I may be able to do some elsewhere but it’s not something I can do forever really.
anways, I’m stuck on what to do. I’ve been applying for some band 4 roles but the take home is not much different to bottom band 4 to top of band 3 after deductions.
my current role is waiting list which is not a role anyone does long term it’s a lot of pressure and so full on. I know i want to progress and change roles but is it worth it?
does anyone also know what band 4 wage is on 30 hours instead of 37.5? Is it a big deduction

it is definitely worth going for it, once you are a band 4 you can look at other band 4 jobs, and it is easier to move to a band 5. Look in other nearby trusts too.

Salary would be fte amount x 30divide by37.5.

Think sometimes we just need a little push. I agree going up the bands is a good idea.
slow process but we get there haha!

Remember if you go for a 4 you will continue to get increments so although the difference might be small now it will get better.

Can you work weekends at all to increase your take home?

Not everyone wants to work 24/7.

Who suggested working 24/7?

Saturdays and nights are paid at time and a third, Sundays and bank holidays time and 2/3. It makes a big difference.

I have two children so ideally want to keep weekends for them. The two band 4 jobs I have applied for are remote working which is ideal! One is 30 hours so wouldn’t be a pay rise really but does mean I get a day at home.. could do some bank work for a trust I suppose to make up for it.. see if I get shortlisted ☺️
