Ex was a binman for a time, he said it was a great job. Sewer worker got to be tops, saw it on a wage programme, they literally have to pick used condoms and sanitary pads from all the grills.

I used to work as a cinema usher, sounds great, right? free films.....

chewing gum stuck to everything, picking up apple cores, banana skins and snotty tissues... having to deal with stroppy teenage children who are out in a big gang (we only had to call the police a couple of times)

The never ending popcorn cascade on the stairs....

PLUS cleaning the loos (poo everywhere in half term, on the sinks when people change toddlers nappies etc)

Oh - and clearing up sick!

All the best tasks combined in one handy job!

But at least I could raid the pick n mix. We were a little independent cinema so the managers turned a blind eye to popcorn and sweet consumption among staff.
