NHS AL 10 yrs entitlement
MakeMineALarge1 · 13/01/2023 10:50
So I started in the NHS in Sept 2013 so it will be 10 years in Sept 2023
But holidays run from April onwards, so does my new allowance start in April or do I have to wait until Sept? The difference is 4 days, do I get the full 4 days or a %

I think I had to wait for the April of financial year that it turned 10yrs, so that would be April 24 for you.

You might get pro rata entitlement from the Sept 23 to April 24. Raise it with admin, they should know. You definitely won’t it early, but they might be able to add the extra hours after Sept.

You get it as soon as you get to 10 years, pro rata for the rest of that financial year. You may need to prompt HR though, in my experience they don't do it automatically.

@MrsMontyD ‘s understanding is mine, and what happened to nhs colleagues of mine in the same position.
It has to be calculated manually so won’t happen automatically.

You get pro rata entitlement from September to April.
Mine was from November to April a few years ago. I just spoke with my manager who raised it with HR.
