No confidence left - manager of sales to what?

I have finally decided I’ve got to leave my job. I’m a manager of a sales team at a very large organisation and I haven’t been enjoying it for a long time. I feel like my confidence is at an all time low. I worry all the time about what my team think of me, what my manager thinks of me and I feel like I’m never doing a good job. Across the last year my team missed their target and I took it very personally, I feel like I’m not good enough to be their manager. Does anyone have any stories of moving out of management / moving companies in general and if it worked out? I feel like I’m not good at this and not good at anything else 😥

Hi there, I feel for you sales isn't easy. Although I've never been in sales myself I've always worked close to it and if you're good with customers there is plenty you can do as sales experience open the doors to many other positions: marketing, product, delivery, project management, business development. The options are endless. Worth having a chat with a recruiter. Have you had a look to see what is out there? LinkedIn would be a good start. Good luck and remember this is just a bad phase, better days will come x
