I have no experience but I do have experience of caring for family members who have/had mental health illnesses. The interview is for tomorrow, I am so nervous, I am preparing for the interview. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you

It’s likely a band 2 or 3 position so you’re not likely to be expected to have years of experience. Instead they assess potential.

You need to be able to show empathy in any patient-facing role so think of some examples that show you have lots of it! Obviously read up on HA duties and know what you’re expected to do.

Your family experience will be a good asset to you so make sure you use it where relevant.

You will have to be able to deal with a lot of stress even as a HA so show that you have thought about that.

And otherwise they want to see that you are organised, punctual, but overall approachable and a friendly team player. Give examples from school or college to show these skills.

all the best! X
