Should I apply for this role? NHS

I’ve seen a role with the NHS that shares a lot of commonality with my current role in local government. The starting salary is a little bit less than I’m on but has the potential to go up higher. The job is a band 7, is there any point applying if I’ve not worked in the NHS before? Obviously I’d do some research about the role and the particular part of the organisation etc but is it realistic to think of even get an interview at that level of I’ve not worked in the NHS before or is it a waste of time?

Where I work there's a lot of cross over. You may not get it. But when is trying a waste of time?
