Introduction to leadership/management course

Sweetpea1989 · 08/01/2023 08:03

I am looking to step up as a manager/leader and my current career doesn't offer that opportunity.

Can anyone recommend any courses that would help me develop my skill set in that area that will be attractive to new employers? Working in business.

Thanks.

What can you invest in this? How much time it money do you have - are we taking about an MBA or Udemy here?

Have a look at the CMI website- lots of different levels of qualifications

I work full time from home (often doing extra hours) and have a family with young children so trying to squeeze it in around the usual commitments.

I think based on my experience I would be best suited to managing a sales/business development team.

Ilm leadership and management course. You can do level 3 and then 5. Study managing teams, leadership, motivational theories. Can be completed through local colleges, potentially online.

Thanks I have just looked at ILM level three but it seems you need level 2 as an entry requirement.

Would you consider changing employer (in your current role) to one that would sponsor your development training?

Lots of employers have certification to offer CMI level 3 and 5 in-house and some can even offer CMI level 7.

Insurance and financial services firms can be a good choice if you want help progressing into leadership roles.
