Civil service options for social workers?

Hello,

I have been an adults community social worker for several years and I am wondering if there are any opportunities for someone like me in the civil service working from home? I have had a look on the website and there doesn't seem to be anything at the moment but I am also not sure what I am looking for - what kind of job is transferable. My current salary is £40,000 so I wouldn't want a pay drop.

I don't know about WFH, but we have some ex social workers working on safeguarding policy and implementation. We have very few 100% from home positions though- most people are in a few days a week.

What sort of thing are you interested in doing and why the civil service? A start thinking about your transfers skills but you do need to be prepared to take a pay cut as is usual with career changes.

It's highly unlikely you'd get a job at the same salary I'd have thought. Usually you go in and work up.

I'm in the exact position with same salary, job and also looking into civil service and wfh. Did you manage to find anything?

Does it need to be fully remote? The civil service has mandated 60% in office

Would be interested in this too, 20 years in the local authority and very bored!
