Maintaining a level of work as a recruitment consultant

I work as a recruitment consultant and have recently gone off on maternity leave to have my DS in February (I know this is early but I have my reasons so please don't judge). I'm due back first Monday of September but don't want to go back as a complete blank slate again.

My boss has been really great and said I could do some stuff like trying to get clients on but my doing the odd Mail shot etc when I'm off if I like. I haven't done anything since I started my leave 2 weeks ago but now I'm thinking I should start doing the odd thing

I appreciate it's quite a male dominated industry but has anyone worked as a external recruitment consultant and how did you maintain your level of work during maternity leave?

Recruiter here. Can your colleagues not help maintain your current clients for you while you’re away? Perhaps a month before you get back you could do some BD calls before you get back so you have a pipeline to get back to. I wouldn’t though- just enjoy your Mat leave! Leave them to it and start again when you’re back.
