NHS Recruitment

I’ve read a few posts regarding this but wonder if anyone has any experience with NHS recruitment or Trac.

I’ve been offered a band 2 post a couple of weeks ago now, about a week later I got a conditional offer letter. I immediately filled in all forms and sent back and had my pre employment ID check a couple of days later.
I’ve had notification today that my DBS is being processed so that’s progress.

one reference says ‘complete’ but the other just says it’s been sent and ‘awaiting reply’. This is my current employer and they’ve told me they’ve sent it back though HR at current employment only provide a basic letter stating basic details of employment dates, job titles etc confirming the employment. Will NHS require more info? Is this why if hasn’t been updated to ‘received’ or ‘complete’?

also waiting on Occupational Health, Trac just says ‘with OH’ after I sent back my OH forms and immunisation list. It’s a band 2 admin job and I didn’t flag anything in forms that would raise any concerns.

Any suggestions on how long those remaining tasks should take? I would LOVE to get a start date soon!

any NHS recruitment experience would be appreciated! I’m not currently in the NHS, and never worked for them before.

Thanks!

Great news OP. My student Nurse DD applied for bank HCA work in July. She has completed all the checks. Now waiting for a payroll number and uniform. The latest update is that there is a uniform delay due to postal strikes!!

Thanks everyone! It is of course good news, but it really shouldn’t have taken as long as it has. It’s been constant chasing and bad/lack of communication.
good luck to everyone job hunting or in limbo like I was for several weeks…

At our trust there's a group Facebook page for the staff bank. You can ask on there and there's always uniform going spare x

Help and advice needed!!!!
This post and it's comments have been really helpful! Glad to see you finally got your start date. Hope the job is going well.

I'm in the same situation as you were. I had an interview on the 13th January and received a "conditional employment offer" that same day. All of my checks on Trac are listed as "Complete" and are green apart from DBS which is "with the disclosure barring service " and on it's final stage.

My question is when the checks on Trac dashboard are listed as "complete" and are in green, does that mean that the check has been approved and is successful? If they thought a reference was unsatisfactory and they were not going to take your application any further, would they let you know before the rest of checks have been completed?

Hello!
Job is going well thank you :)

when I was checking Trac every day for updates I assumed that the complete meant that the references had been received and checked. I’ve since been told by someone who was hired at the same time as me that she rang up recruitment when all her elements of Trac said complete, only to be told that audit actually checked the details of the reference to ensure everything was in place. So although the references have been received, there’s no guarantees that they’ve been ‘verified’ so to speak.
if I were you I’d ring up the recruitment team and ask for an update and ask if you have queries specifically about the references, ask them if they’ve been checked and verified and that they have all the info they require.
trac/recruitment I have learnt have very bad reputations but they are completely understaffed so don’t check Trac as often as they should - ringing up would be your best bet.

hope that helps a little - let us know how you get on! :)

Hello, I have recently been offered a job at NHS (clerical), I accepted the verbal offer which was 30 hours for ENT surgery, however got a letter offering me the same post but different hours (37.5) and a different surgery (neurosurgery) and a different location. The offer that is in writing is much better than the verbal one. Does anyone know could they have made a mistake?
