Absence record and new employment

Hi there,

I have been offered a new job within the NHS and I have two underlying conditions that may be covered under the Equality Act.

I have been off with a bereavement, the underlying conditions and Covid and isolating for testing too. Been through OHS etc...Now down with the bloody flu 🙈 So off today!

I'm worried incase I get turned down for the job once they see that! My absences are all genuine but I still feel guilty when off!

Any NHS staff / HR able to advise? Will my manager explain the reasons? If there was concerns, would I get referred to OHS? I really want this job and now that I will get glowing references, but don't want this holding me back 😔

I try telling myself that I haven't done anything wrong and that I have seen those with worse sickness levels go into new roles without issue. Any advice appreciated 😁
