Work/Life Balance or Job I love?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some perspective on a choice I need to make with work.

I am working for an organisation that gives me school holidays with the children (both in lower years of secondary school) and I enjoy the interaction of working in an office after many years of home-working, although I do find it hard to focus sometimes. The job is quite boring and frustrating and there are so many people to make decisions that they never get made so don't feel like I'm learning much. The job gives me the opportunity to complete qualifications (although I'm not sure when I'd get the time to do it or whether it's something I'm passionate about).
I know the owner of a company who are looking for someone in exactly the type of job I have experience, in an industry I love and there are lots of opportunities for development and gaining qualifications but it's 52 weeks a year (33 days holiday) and primarily working from home.

I just don't know whether to go with the job that would be something I really love, have more responsibilty and variety and higher pay, in a small private company or stick with the convenience of my current job.

I look forward to your thoughts!

If your children are in school then wfh does actually afford you some work/life balance I would think. Particularly if the company are understanding of things like doing the odd school run etc.

Good luck with whichever you choose

That's true, thank you @jeepjeep4 The kids are in Secondary school and it's only a 10 minute walk from our house so not too much of a problem but school holidays always worry me, especially after working with kids at home during the Covid Lockdown!
