DS is 17 and just completed a week of training in Tesco for his first job. He starts next week but uniform-wise has been offered the choice of either a blue polo shirt or blue long sleeve button-down shirt. What would others recommend?

Also he's got a silver chain but is that appreciate in work or is he better off taking it off for work?

Thanks in advance folks!

Definitely the polo shirt - easier to move in and less ironing. Don't know about the chain, assume their dress code policy would mention if there was an issue.

My DS worked in aTesco Express for a year. he was given quite a lot of clothing. Trousers, safety shoes(for unloading deliveries), polo shirts.
I was just clearing out some old stuff and found his red Tesco Christmas top!
I would suggest that if he has a choice the polo shirt is more practical and esier to wash.
As to the chain I would suggest he ask his superviser, I doubt there would be a problem.
Good luck to him. My DS found it was a good employer. After a while he got staff discount which I could use on family online shop.

Surely it's time for him to make these decisions himself?

If he is doing lifting stuff etc I just wouldn’t recommend wearing a chain at all regardless of policy.
