Notice of redundancy - HR help

I've been a HR bod but currently in a volunteer role and need some help with a redundancy situation. Trying not to be outing so some details vague.

Small (less than 20 ppl) Charity is closing. Staff informed on Friday that everyone will be made redundant.

One member of staff phoned in sick that day so missed the meeting where they were told. They were messaged and asked if we could ring them. No response.

Communication is patchy and they are still in the self cert days. It seems like mental health is at play and likely will move to a long term sick. Employee has less than 2 years service.

No response on whether we can phone them or if they want to phone me.

What do we do? Can we send them the letter about redundancy? Feels mean given they are sick with no communication before hand. They are only communicating through text and only the required 'I'm not well'.

How do we move forward with this?

Write to them. Start by explaining how you have tried to contact them. Acknowledge they are sick but you are obliged to provide them with the following info. As the process progresses you will continue to send info.mEnd with please phone x if you would like to discuss.
