Radio silence after job offer

Has anyone experienced this? Was offered a job last Wednesday.

The person interviewing me emailed me straight away confirming. I emailed back on Wednesday evening and I've heard nothing since.

They wanted me to start this week (I'm unemployed due to redundancy so that's fine!)

But I've heard nothing since last Wednesday and I'm beginning to worry they've changed their minds 😔

Yes, I emailed on my ID straight away after successful interview, heard absolutely nothing back until nearly a week later when I emailed again (Wednesday about starting following Monday) I had no idea what I was walking into.

Even worse, we had a new colleague due to start and when their laptop didn't turn up so they couldn't have their given start date confirmed, someone at my employer's just said well we'll put them off for a little while - winced at that, wondering what reputation that would give us and possibly how close we came to being in a same situation which definitely would have woke me up to all wasn't well.

Today I am so close to tears at the company's disorganisation. It isn't laughable anymore and I hope the latest colleague quite frankly has the lucky escape.

Feel free to email and call but employer going of radar in lead up to starting can be a concern. (not necessarily that they've changed their mind about you as a person) just events beyond their control.

I've been waiting a month.

Had the interview on 7th September
Offered position on 9th September.
Accepted on 12th.
Sent professional/education certificates 13th.
Got pre employment forms to complete 23rd.
Completed same day and sent back (electronically) after quick question with their HR.
Answer to question indicates I may need to have a medical or speak to Occupational health.
Now radio silence.
I'm unemployed and have P45 from most recent employer, so am ready to go.

Oh my goodness!! Sending hugs to you both

It's a horrible feeling. I've kept applying for jobs and have another interview booked in next Monday but no doubt that'll be when I hear back about my job offer!

Flippin rude and stressful

I start a new job on Monday, have all the paperwork through including an invitation to a conference abroad just have no clue what I'm doing on Monday. I have a meeting today with one of my new colleagues so I will ask her. My boss has been in touch so I'm not being ignored amd he knows I've been on holiday. I'm assuming I have to go to the office as I'll need to collect my laptop.

How is this in any way helpful to the OP? It’s a completely different situation.
