Different rates of pay and contact help

Ok so my contact states my job title and my rate of pay.
However there are 3 different jobs in the team all different rates of pay.
So for example staff either get £10, £11, or £12 an hour depending on thier duties on that shift. ( These are not the real figures)
So what l want to know if I'm contracted for £11 an hour with that job title, if l am put on the £10 shift should l not still be getting my contact rate.
Atm I'm getting paid the £11 for whatever shift l do. But l think l should be getting the £12 for the shifts with more responsibility, however don't want to make a fuss if l loose money when doing the lowest paid shift. I used to get the extra for the most responsible shift but that seems to have stopped. I don't want to make a fuss and then the company actually pay me less than my contract says for some shifts as when l work the £10 shift I'm actually better off. But l have a month coming up when l will covering the £12 shift for £11 an hour. I just wondered if any legal people know if they can pay me less than my contract rate if I'm put on a lower paid shift.
Hope this makes sense.

If your contract says you are paid £11, that is what you must be paid. They cannot pay you less than that without your consent. You cannot force them to pay more than that.
