Is it normally for companies to be slow at recruiting?

I've applied for a job and have got through to the 3rd and final stage however the 2nd interview was 6 weeks ago and I'm still waiting on date confirmation for the retrospective interview. They have been trying to fill this role unsuccessfully for 14ths now but Im getting a little fed up waiting around (I appreciate people are busy) I had a few meetings to attend so I didn't want anything clashing so I phoned the internal recruitment lady to tell her of my plans and she advised that the interviews will likeky be commencing next week but I've still nothing concrete in terms of a date. I don't know why I'm even posting I suppose but I'm starting to think they are stringing me along now 😏

It's school holiday season Half the team will be away and the other half, covering for them so very hard to organise interviews.

I bet they suggest a date as soon as the schools are back.

@MintJulia thanks so much for replying. I am really keen to get this which is making the wait harder to bare. Finger's crossed I hear soon and they don't pull the plug on the job

August is a rubbish time to organise interviews. Everyone is on holiday.

No words of wisdom, but I share your pain. I've just an hour ago got an interview through. It's first thing monday and I have to give a presentation. FIne, except I have a houseful this weekend and am catering for a family celebration on friday. Sigh.

Ah @Motorina that's always the way. I'm sure you will absolutely smash it though!!!! I'll definitely be thinking of you! I too have heard today that the man (in America) who will be interviewing me isn't available until the week commencing the 12 so I will hear at the start of the week a proper date and time. I just want it done so that I know what's happening now. I started this process in may. It's been a long slog.
