I'm currently on maternity leave, not set to return to work until February 2023 (baby is only two weeks old).
I am currently employed on a temporary contract through an agency. However, a permanent position at the same workplace has come up. Practically the same job I was doing, but better pay and obviously with a permanent contract! I have applied for it, but now I'm wondering if it's actually possible for me to apply whilst I'm on maternity? Obviously the employer know I'm on maternity, but would they be able to keep the job open for me until February? They already have another temp in to cover me whilst I'm on maternity. Would my maternity pay stop if I were to get this job, even if I don't start until February?
