Has anyone changed career and started training as a vet in their 40s?

im Desperate for a career change but don’t want to drop my salary long term. Would love to do something animal related. Is starting from scratch to train to be a vet completely unrealistic at 40??

Assume you know vet science is one of the most competitive courses to get on at uni so you’d be competing with 18yos with straight As at science a-levels… IIRC only a handful few universities offer vet science. Some may be willing to accept mature students but five years full time at a student will cost a fortune- assume you’d need to pay fees too. Bear in mind you’d not have nearly as much time as an 18yo to pay it back!
