Anyone commute from Richmond (North Yorks) to Leeds?

If so, is it an ok commute?

I'm thinking of applying for a job in Leeds and moving to Richmond (half hour from where I currently live). I want to live in Richmond anyway and leave where I am now as I absolutely love Richmond and love the Yorkshire Dales! My life would improve so much!

I'm going through a divorce and this has been going on a while so it's time to start planning and making things happen. Trouble is, I want my daughter to stay at her current school until she finishes GCSE's (and even A-levels as they have a good sixth form - it's an outstanding school). There is a school bus to her school from Richmond and an Arriva bus so I know she'd get there ok. I'm just wondering if the commute to Leeds would be too much.

My current job is 8 miles away down a country road but I hate the job and there is a lot going on there causing issues.

Anyone do that commute or something similar?

Leeds is a big place
where in Leeds?

I know someone who commutes from
bedale to Leeds but not to city centre.

I used to commune from stokesley to north Leeds -I moved as it wasn’t viable

Have you ever lived in Richmond?
it’s not very North Yorkshire
soldiers and holiday homes

I commute to Leeds from the Dales, but not that bit of the Dales.

Skipton has a fully electrified rail line into central Leeds (approx 45 mins for the journey), whereas Richmond doesn't. Richmond is not somewhere I would choose to live if I had to get to Leeds every day.

I don't think it's going to work. Too far!
