In the creative sector? I’ve been out of work for 12 years, how?! And am so desperate to work it’s not true, just not getting anywhere!

Honestly? In the creative sector I’d say (unless you’ve been very actively creating during that time) a course or new qualification would stand you in better stead than a careers coach. You need fresh stimuli, new creative challenges and an updated network of contacts. These aren’t things a coach can provide.

though, in all honesty there’s a limited number of returners posting about work / study in creative careers.

If you could say a little more about your area of work someone may be able to make more specific suggestions. FWIW I was in a similar position and took an MA in middle age.
