Has anyone got a job reference from their work coach at job centre

I was told it’s possible by one call taker at job centre and not possible by another. Has anyone managed this it the recent times?

Years ago they use to try and help above and beyond when it was JSA, less so now. 2013 I was offered by the Job Centre to write a reference but in early 2020 they were trying to get me to ask for my job back at a hotel in 2019 who employed me as summer staff on zero hours, this was just before Covid19 hit (so fortunately I did not follow their advice, otherwise I'd have been furloughed within weeks or dare say lost the job outright a few short weeks later) when made to feel small in did I have a problem with references?

In much earlier 2019 I popped into my job centre who gratefully crafted a letter confirming the dates on JSA previously for a back ground screening company requirements, however I asked for same in Autumn 2021 to be told firmly that is now what Universal Credit Online Account is for - you can access an online account and print off to 'prove out of work periods'. The Job Centre wouldn't even do it for you - so I wouldn't like to vouch on them in these times. But to my mind a personal reference means especially nothing over the last 2 years either with people in lockdown and not seeing each other.
