I’ve been working in a bank for a four years. Telephone customer service role, home based , not bad money, opportunity for overtime for better rate. Huge organisation. I could develop with this role, but don’t really want to, I want to go into accounting. I’m doing AAT level 3 now, two exams to go. I’ve been approach by employment agency ( I left there my CV ages ago) and offered an interview for purchase ledger role. In the same time I went for other interview, secondment within organisation, treasury job, so within my area of interest. I’ve got a dilemma: should I stay in my secure, not badly paid job or should I leave for want I really want, accounts ? There’re accounting jobs advertised within my work, but not many of them. Most accounting roles are for very experienced people, I’m not. Leaving current role would mean decrease in income and having driving to work, while I’m very settled with home working. I’m 45, if not going to do it now, I won’t do it.
