Wanting to return to work- but not my old job!

I've started hunting for a new job and frankly the whole process just makes me want to cry ( or stand in the middle of nowhere and scream!).

I am on maternity leave from my current role which I enjoyed and the pay was okay but it is not at all compatible with having a young family. I worked as a support worker with adults with severe learning difficulties and it had a very unpredictable shift schedule.

I'm looking for a new job as I'm only on smp and have no obligation to return to my old role after my maternity ends. It seems like everything that appeals to me is full time or is part time and I'm under qualified for🤦‍♀️

It's financially viable for me to stat at home for longer bit we'd have less 'fun' money so I wouldn't really be able to do much with it. I also feel like I need a bit of time away from being a mum for my own sanity and self worth. We have a trusted childminder who can have my little boy and my mum is offering to have him on some days so childcare isn't too much of an issue!

On one hand I wouldn't mind returning to work full time but my mum thinks I will regret it and I would be sad to miss so much time with my little boy.

Any sanity saving words of wisdom? If you got this far thank you for reading my little rant/ ramble
