Worried about being in the office pregnant

Hi there, I found out this week I'm pregnant - which is so exciting as it took us a long time and IVF to get here. I work in an office and currently have to go in three days a week.

I'm feeling very anxious about being there, due to Covid - even though I know things are much better now. I have to get two Tubes across London, and a couple of people in the office have tested positive this week. I want to work from home more - maybe go in once a week or fortnight. Am I being over the top though, as cases are declining? I'm vaccinated and boosted.

Most of my team work remotely, so that's no issue - but my manager is often in the office. I guess I could get a doctors note - had anyone done the same? I used to see pregnant women in the office and commuting all the time, but I don't see anyone these days so I'm guessing others feel the same and are taking the same precautions.

Thank you!

Congratulations!

There's nothing wrong in asking your manager if you could work at home more. I work in a branch of NHS and two of our pregnant ladies worked from home permanently from 28 weeks x
