Online HR courses - are they any good?

Are online HR courses any good? I have been looking into CIPD certified courses (mainly through ICS learn), are these any good? Are they recognised qualifications?

I used Avado (although it was Home Learning College then). I was happy with them and the online learning plus I think 2 face to face sessions worked for me, I’d probably choose that structure again. I know people who’ve used ICS or DPG and they’ve been largely positive. Yes they are recognised qualifications. If you want to work in HR, CIPD accredited qualifications are the ones you should focus on.

Yes these are recognised courses but you will also need experience if you want to join above entry level really. I did my Level 3. CIPS online while working in another industry then my Level 5 through the apprenticeship levy a few years later in my HR role.

Avado has a good reputation.

As an employer I’m always much more interested in your actual experience. I have never required a candidate to be CIPD qualified or been interested in whether or not they are.

If you are in the UK, CIPD is the recognised Professional Qualification employers would ask for.
