What would you say works best for the following situation? Relocated, got offered job at civil service (did not relocate for work reasons). They're fairly open to pt hours but seems minimum about 26hrs a week. I've got one 22month old and one 4 year old who will start school in September. I'll have to travel 30 minutes to and from work. They're open 8.30 to 5. I'm trying to think of what will get me the most school pick up and drop offs and also consider nursery days half or full. Any suggestions?! Was thinking of suggesting 3 days 8.30 to 5 and then one half day so I'll let get one school drop off a week and two pick ups?! That doesn't sound much though and makes me feel sad. Alternatively 8.30 to 5 two days and then two days or 8.30 to 2.30 but this means paying nursery full days but only getting ome more drop off?! Or shall I forget the school runs just yet, work hours around nursery days and then renegotiate closer to school starting?!

No advice as I'm kinda in the same boat.

I have 3 yr old twins and a 1 yr old.

I think my preference would be 3 longer days and two full days off. Even if that means working 8-6 x 3 if that's allowed.

I'd be reluctant to do a half day if there's an hour's commute in total.

Or maybe ask if you can work from home 1 or 2 days...
