Feeling depressed with my new job!

I've been at my new job for 2 months now, and I'm so depressed. I am an assistant manager. I want to get out but its not so easy, as they have no employees, everyone who works there doesn't want to stay and because there are no employee's I'm forced to work 7 days a week without a day off, The manager of the store is pregnant and she's currently managing two stores at the same time because they don't have staff. I'm working loads of overtime hours and not getting paid extra. I'm opening and closing the store alone because there is no one else to do it. Any missing stock, I'm forced to pay for it, even though I'm a new employee. They expect there employee to pay for it. I really don't know what to do. I'm so stressed, and I feel bad for my pregnant manager if I walk away, she'll have loads more to deal with. I need help 😪 I'm thinking to give a 1 months notice so it gives them time to find someone else and it gives me time to search for a new job. I don't know.

What are your contracted days, I can’t believe you are expected to work every single day, without a day off.

Please Leave this Job! Now!

I'm lucky to even get a break some days. Yesterday for instance I worked 8 hours with no break what so ever and then because I left, they got angry because I didn't stay until closing. They don't even pay me for over time, so why should I stay longer.
@Mindymomo My contracted days are 6 days per week so I'm entitled to one off per week. I haven't even been receiving that!

I would get out before you find yourself doing your managers job as well!

Literally say 'no'. They cannot force to you work without your breaks or unpaid. So just don't do it. Look for a new job immediately, and leave.

Any job.

I would leave. Yes it might be rubbish for your boss but that isn't your problem, and also who is going to be doing her job when she goes on maternity leave? Give whatever notice you are contractually obliged to give, no more. And during your notice period stop doing overtime, and take your breaks.

Wow,you are being exploited here. I'd show no loyalty to any employer who treats staff like this.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I decided today is the day I will give my resignation. Thankfully my uncle offered me a position in his company. It is normal to feel bad about leaving your job? When I quit, it will only be my pregnant manager and 1 part timer working. I can't help but feel guilty that they will be doing all the work alone. Even though the conditions are awful...with rarely any days off and working overtime hours for free. I don't know why but I get so attached to my work.

You sound like a very conscientious and hard worker, but sometimes you have to do what’s best for you, not everyone else. I think they’ve taken advantage of you, like a lot of places at the moment that are either short staffed or cannot afford extra staff. My first job at 16 was an office junior. The receptionist left and I was given that job along with my own, then someone else left and I was asked to do that job as well until they got cover. They didn’t seem to be in any hurry with the replacement and I was doing 3 jobs at one time. One day I rang in sick and took a week off. When I returned they had taken on somebody to do one of the jobs. Hope you get to explain your reasons for leaving, it’s not right to expect anyone to work every single day without a day off, it’s probably against the law.

Look at it another way, why do you think no one wants to work there?! Don't feel bad they don't care about you clearly.
