Falling pregnant in new job

Hello,
I was hoping for some honest opinions!

I am a primary school teacher and have just started a new job. (I'm still within Surrey though so same county as old job!) I have an 18 month old and my husband and I are desperate for baby number two. Because I have stayed within the same county, I am entitled to full maternity pay but is it really awful for me to start trying when I've only just started?

I was hoping to start trying the end of next month so earliest possible due date would be the end of the academic year/July.

A new colleague has warned me that a previous member of staff joined and then announced they were pregnant which upset the headteacher. Apparently the headteacher made it clear how she felt the the staff member left after her maternity. Which is worrying me!

Please share your thoughts...

Whether you've been there 1 year or 5 years they will still need to find cover for you.

Any primary headteacher who victimises recent /expectant mothers is going to be reducing their pool of candidates significantly...
