Any civil service lawyers around?

Hello

I have posted before but now I have decided to apply for the GLD and am working through the application form (I intend to apply before the 3rd September deadline, I am getting over Covid atm and my brain is mush).

I am struggling to know what they are looking for with the technical legal skills question - should I be giving examples of work where I have had to use my legal knowledge and research skills? I have started and scrapped so many versions now as none of them feel right.

I am currently a professional support solicitor in a private client department and so the only real connection with public law I have is with HMRC. I have very little litigation experience.

Is it even worth me applying?

Yes it’s worth applying and you are on the right lines.

Contact GLD recruitment team and ask them what they are looking for. They will be happy to advise you as they are always recruiting lawyers.
