Hi, I'm wanting to apply for this position within NHS as I'm currently working as a Housekeeping assistant within the Trust and I'm not sure how to start off my first paragraph.

What does it ask for ..statement of suitability?

Have a look at your Trust’s website and learn about their values - can you apply these to your current role and formulate a paragraph from that? Think about the skills you have currently and how they transfer to the new role. The housekeepers who work on our floor have fantastic interpersonal skills and nothing is too much trouble for them, even when they’re working under pressure and to tight deadlines - exactly the sort of qualities you’d expect someone on reception to have. Talk about how you’re keen to learn new skills and develop your existing skills too (also you’ll need to demonstrate some computer literacy). It might also be a good idea to arrange some job shadowing with the dept you’re hoping to work for/have an informal chat with the job lead. Good luck! Smile
