Applying for another job after 6 mths will it look bad on my CV?

Basically i took this job to help develop my experience by working in another company who on paper seemed to be a experienced team. However, as lovely as they were I've realised I'm not learning anything and in fact I'm teaching them things! Management seems really weak with no direction and recently the manager and deputy manager fell out a few weeks out in front of the whole team! Ive stuck it out for 6mths and whilst I'm not hating it I just feel I'm not getting what I want out of it. A potential jobs come up but what do I say about current job and reason for leaving? Will it look bad. The job before that I was there for 9 years.

No, I think the reasons you have put here are valid reasons for moving to a new company.

If you regularly left jobs 4 or 5 months in, it would look bad, but 9 years in one place, a move, then realising the move wasn't what you'd hoped it would be is a perfectly valid reason to move.

"It wasn't the right fit for me"

True, but vague

I'm in a similar position

As above I'd either say it wasnt the right fit, or I'd skip over it entirely and say you weren't looking to leave but once you saw this new job you couldn't not apply as it's the perfect fit.

Oo I love that idea! Thank you for the advice 😊

Excellent answer @wanderedlonelyasacloud

Candidates should always remember that the interviewers are looking for someone who really wants to work for them / is looking for a particular challenge / etc rather than someone who is looking to leave where they are now.

I think with the previous 9 year job you’ll be fine.

I was recently in a similar position and applied (and got) another job after 8 months. Previously I’d been somewhere for 15 years, and the job before that for 6 years. It was fine.
