Just a bit of encouragement for anyone who is currently unemployed...

I was made redundant last year after more than ten years in my old job. I have spent the last six months applying for jobs and getting rejected, over and over again, even for roles that were paid about half of what I used to earn. I was getting so depressed and discouraged, and I was genuinely starting to believe that I was unemployable.

And then suddenly, I got offered a job. And not just any job, but my dream job in the perfect location and on a better salary than I earned previously.

So, if anyone is feeling like they will never get another job again, please take heart. It is possible to find something even after months of rejection and hopelessness!

Thank you @Bigoldmachine. Smile

I know that there are lots of people out there looking for work at the moment, so I just wanted to share a little bit of the joy and give a bit of hope to anyone who is struggling. Miracles do happen!Smile

I needed to hear this today - I was made redundant last November and secured some agency work last week only to be told on Friday that they had 'changed their mind as it would take too long to train me up'... I spent the evening in floods of tears so it is encouraging to hear your tale. Hopefully I will be joining you in new job land soon. Best of luck with it.

Congratulations op.

I remember how hard it was to stay motivated when job hunting, in my case it was always getting to the final 2 but not being chosen.

Eventually I got offered a job that used my skills but took them in a different direction that has opened up a whole new career.

Congratulations OP. I'm currently in a temporary job after redundancy and trying to find something that is both permanent but also WFH (I'm disabled). Not easy to find such jobs!
Furthermore, I had an interview with what I thought was my dream job but they messed me about. I posted about it.
