How long to hear back successful interview (civil service)

So I had an interview yesterday and I've still not heard, in 95% of my successful job offers I've heard by the following morning so not feeling at all hopeful :( just wondering if anyone had any positive stories of hearing positive after this time frame?!

They aren't using civil service jobs, they said candidates should know within a couple of days, yesterday was the last day (potentially only) for interviews, they didn't say how (whether it would be a call or an email through the portal they use- no CSJ) I've always had a call when successful.

I thought it went well initially but have been kicking myself since at all the different ways I'd wished I'd answered.

There's still lots of time. They may not even have decided yet who they want to offer the job to. They might need an additional internal meeting today to discuss or to run the decision past a more senior official, or HR contact candidates. Don't despair!

Thank you, I just hate this bit SO much, I can't stop running the interview through my head and all the different things I wish I'd said. Once I know the outcome, either way, I am usually pretty good at just moving on at that point!

Civil service recruitment can be a long process. I always wrap up and make hiring decisions directly after I’ve finished the final interview, and call the successful candidates to let them know because the formal route can then take a good week to notify people of outcomes and make offers. We don’t use CSJobs either. However calling is not standard in CS and most will just let HR notify people, so it can take a while - don’t give up hope yet!

Thanks both I got the call this evening! Thankfully I mentioned in the interview I had another offer on the table so they called me against HR guidance because they didn't know how long the portal would take to update. So I've got a decision to make now!
