I started maternity leave on Friday and though we've not been told 'officially' it has been confirmed that the grapevine is right, and the whole team including me will be transferred to an office further away in the new year. People keep telling me that travel costs will be covered, but that's no consolation when additional travel time will be at least one extra hour per day, that's if the public transport works as it should and all connections work OK. At the moment I can pick DS up from nursery but this would be pretty impossible with longer travel as they shut at 6pm.
Most of team is very happy as it's better for them. I can't transfer to a different team as it is specialised work.
DH is absolutely furious, partly as he will now have to shoulder virtually all childcare morning and evening (he works for himself from home) as I will not be there.
I know there's nothing I can do but I feel really fed up. Also once I go back to work I will end up barely seeing the new baby (due any time), I feel like I've got separation anxiety already! Has anyone else experienced anything similar or got any tips?
