Does anyone work as police staff that can help?

Three days ago I received verbal confirmation of a job offer within 999 demand call hub.

I haven't heard a single thing since, not even a follow up email. I know they have my correct email address as that's how they set up the assessments and interviews ect.

I'm now losing my mind a bit wondering if I actually got the role or if they've decided to change their minds.

Anyone work for them and can advice if this is normal or not? It's a much wanted role and I'll be gutted if it's revoked

Check your junk mail first and then phone and ask.

Thank you, I have checked my junk mail and have every intention of following it up but I have only worked for Private companies before not Public so didn't know if this was ordinary for the police to be a little slow.

Yes. Can be very slow, especially with many working from home. Years ago my application to joining took a year! I doubt it’s that slow now though.
I’ve just joined another public sector service and their HR / admin is dreadful. Just pester everyone you can until you get the information.
Good luck.

Oh wow! Blimey that is a long time. They were upfront with saying it may take a long time BUT I would have thought they would at least email or send some follow up acknowledgnent to the phone call. Eurgh.

I used to work as police staff in the contact centre and the whole recruitment process takes ages. Each force normally has a recruitment department you can contact.. have you tried calling them to “check on the progress of your application” ;) Xx
