Oo heck! Just filling in my first application form for, well ever really, don't know where to start!

The last time I filled a job application form in was 1984! I worked for the same company from leaving school to being made redundant in 1996! I have been a childminder since then. Do people really need to know all the details of my previous employment all the way back? I can't even remember the address of my company and I know they're not at the same place now anyway! Then I've got to remember all my qualifications! I am old, I can't remember what I did yesterday, let alone what I left school with in 1984!

Perhaps I'll give Ofsted & childminding a go for a bit longer afterall - better the devil you know and all that!

Make rough notes first to make sure you get it right/say the right things. Yes they will want all of your previous employment history but it's acceptable to put the company name and city/town only rather than full address unless you're including them as a contact for a reference.
Good luck!

I hope they don't check my list of qualifications to carefully, the job is at the school I went to! I know I got 6 O levels, but apart from Maths and English, I'm buggered if I can remember what the rest were!

i'm having this problem too.....my job application wants two references...not family, or friends....and all i did for ten years was run a business in partnership with four family members!

i'm really not sure what to do....i'm going to have to fill in what i can and i hope i get an interview so i can charm them then!

I wouldn't mind so much if I was applying for a high powered, high flying job, but it just a little part time job, invigilating for exams!
