Primary age child at home (remote learning next week) and my work

i am a teacher and have 2 kids - 12 and 9 yo. My chn will have home learning from next week. I think 12 yo can stay by himself? but 9yo ...needs to be looked after. My husband can take some time off work to stay with kids at home. Can I ask my school to let me know 2 days stay at home and work from home, whilst keeping an eye on kids?
My school might ask me why my 9yo does not go to his school as a child of key worker, but his school is about 1 hour drive from our house and it woudl not be time-efficient.

I’m sorry. I am obviously not understanding your post. If your problem is the long journey that you have to undertake to get your nine year old to school then how do you manage normally?

Would you be able to do your job working from home without childcare? If so then there is no harm in asking, if not then the most you could request realistically would be unpaid leave.
