Am I entitled to holiday pay if I don't return to work?

Hi mumsnetters, I hope someone is able to help me with the following question: I've recently decided not to return to work, and will soon have to hand in my notice. Our HR department have just informed me that I can take my holiday + bank holidays before returning to work. Does that mean I am entitled to full pay for the duration of the holiday I've saved up, even if I don't return to work?

After maternity leave?

When you terminate your employment you will be entitled to the hours/days that you have accrued for holiday.

This means that you can either work your notice and then take the holiday pay as a payment, or your employer may be able to insist you use the holiday to cover all/some of your notice period. Check your contract for more specific info as there can be several variations of this rule.

If you are on maternity, I would recommend timing the end of your notice to being the date you are due back, then you'll be paid holiday pay as they have no alternative.
