Care assistant: Sole trader or Ltd company

Hi all,

I’ve just recently set up as a self employed worker and I’m now seeking work & plan to source my clients through agencies.

I’m set up as a sole trader as my accountant advised this was best for ‘small businesses’. However, having spoke to an agency today I’m no long sure if I should be a sole trader or if I should have set up a Ltd company instead. The agency stated that they take on Ltd not sole traders and that this is the case for most agencies.
Obviously if this is the case then that’s a problem for me as I would like to source clients through several agencies.

So that’s my predicament...
Can anyone help with this?
Also, if there are any self employed carers reading this, are you a sole trader or ltd company?

Thanks for taking the time to read this & I’d be grateful for any assistance Smile

Leanne
