I work in a heavily millennial/genZ company and since joining have noticed bemusement and some degree of awkwardness around my age. I’m the oldest employee as I’m in my mid 40s and this the same age as some of my younger colleagues’ parents.
Examples of awkwardness includes colleagues seemingly surprised when I do something “young” in my spare time - “oh I didn’t think that would be your thing” and some of the (female) colleagues coming to me for life advice even if I am not working friends with them nor in a role where I would have any interest in their issues.
Anyone else having this?
