I’ve heard things like the local cafe getting hundreds of applications. Is it like that in other roles? Are there more applicants now then in the past? Anyone work in recruitment/HR?
DH has lost his job :( he’s looking for something mid level officey

I'm a recruiting manager in the NHS, I have a range of posts out to advert, the lower banded (admin, clinical assistant) roles are attracting a lot of attention. We get a lot of views anyway because people are keen to get in to the NHS for the perceived benefits but the interest is even greater than normal. That could be because of the exposure that COVID has brought on the struggles of the NHS in recent times. I wish your husband luck in his search

I suspect it’s rather sector dependent. The other half is still getting weekly calls from companies looking to poach, my sister on the other hand is on the verge of giving up looking.
