Just a query. Do you ever get irritated or bemused by the amount of people who want to 'sell you something' either through work or friends.

Example. I'm an EA/PA - in central government - good at my job but have worked in corporate firms before.

I have so many people try to connect to sell me the latest travel organising IT package or organisation packages etc. The latest one is from someone who's a mindset and business coach who's helping EA's build their VA business - but the trouble with that, is I'm happy to work for government and not start my own business.

Also I have a family friend who's already a successful business coach and life coach (has her own company).

This other coach has as far as I'm aware messaged me a few times - I had to tell her, no, I'm not interested but thanks... no matter who else she knows in a professional capacity on my linked in. and now I see she's viewing my linked in profile again. The whole reason I disconnected from her was I was annoyed with her endless messages trying to sell me her services!

Luckily the juice plus etc people are relatives or have stopped their selling.

I'm a PA, the amount of selling, on a daily basis is one of the things I hate about my job!

Lucky you having a secure job In CG (that you are good at). I appreciate you may find it frustrating that people are constantly contacting you, however many coaches and freelance businesses have ground to a total halt, are desperate for work and are therefore trying to widen their network.

I agree with you that coaches and freelance businesses have ground to a halt and yes the ones I'm interested in etc I'll help but this one person has been really pushy.

I'm not interested in becoming part of her network simply because she has been too busy in the past!

@TokyoSushi

Luckily I escape most of it in my day to day work but it's on linked in that I see it more.

I get that they sell because they need/want etc to create their businesses.

I know quite a few PA/legal secretaries etc who have moved to the South Coast and now seem to sell YouNique, Amway, Forever Living, Arbonne etc as their main job and as I was hooked in by one Arbonne rep. Great for them but I am so not interested in MLM stuff. And every other person I know is a Life Coach...
