Do you mean they are changing your contract (surely can't do that) or suggesting you go back gradually (on full pay)?

mankyscotslass · 11/09/2007 14:27

Have Occupational Health recommended a gradual return to work?

dressedupnowheretogo · 11/09/2007 14:33

she will take me back part time at her conveince not mine i would like to change my hours

lol i havent seen one concellor yet even though have asked several times in the past four months

they just keep juggling my ad dose around at the mo im on 40 mg prozac

i really feel going back to work full time would do me a hell of good

So, you want to change your hours (but stay full time) but she will only agree to part time?

Your employer has a legal right to make reasonable adjustments for a disability (which it sounds like your illness would qualify for). She is not obliged to agree all your suggestions.

What are her reasons for not agreeing your amended hours? If they are decent ones (e.g. the times you want to work the business is really quiet and they would have no work to give you) then, yes, she probably can do that.

So your normal hours are part time and she doesn't want you to increase them?
If you've been off sick for 4 months that sounds v sensible of her I would say.

RibenaBerry · 11/09/2007 15:55

I agree. I think it would be very hard to argue that it was a reasonable adjustment to your disability to increase your hours. I think, on this one, your boss is right I'm afraid.

Agree. If you've been off for 4 mths with anxiety then I think she's being very sensible. Don't make major life changes at this point, until you are back into a successful, normal routine and then take it from there.
