I work in an open plan office. Normally have a team of 8 but this week have been working with 'skeleton' staff of 6!

Boss has taken herself off to work from home and says the rest of us are unable to work from home as we don't have laptops etc and the phones do not work outside the office.

Have all been threatened with disciplinary action if we refuse to come to work.

To make it clear, we are sitting 2m apart (only just)...the cleaner is off sick with the virus and 2 other staff members have symptoms as of this weekend.

It just feels an office job is something we could be doing from home but it's a flat no, and there is nothing any of us can do really. Morale obviously very low but feel very much stuck as some of our work could technically be classed as key working, and other parts definitely wouldn't be.

Aibu and should I just pull myself together or is this sort of thing just putting unnecessary pressure on NHS by using a technicality.

For the avoidance of doubt, it's not that I dont want to work. I want to be able to work from home. DH is a paramedic working flat out to work as hard as he can, and balance it with seeing our young daughter. It just makes me angry that my employer sees one side of it and I go home and see the opposite side.

Id be developing a cough this weekend

Believe me @chicken I've thought about it, but if this goes on as long as expected I couldn't keep that up long term. Plus dont want to put added stress on colleagues. There seems to be no way out really.
