My employer putting people at risk

We are key workers in a call centre (Gas & Elec) We are sitting at desks 1 meter apart. People are using lifts. Today I've had people at my desk invading personal space never mind keeping distance!
I feel helpless. What are our rights? why is work not doing anything? I watch what is happening in Italy and despair Sad

Have they sent everyone who can work at home out of the office? Then anyone who needs to be in the office can spread out.

Are you in a union? Speak to them.

Could you afford to live off sick pay?

Yes those who can work from home are. I just cant believe they are doing nothing even doing ever other desk or sending am email for people to keep distance.
Yes I am in the union so will contact them

I'm In same boat op. And what's funny (or not) is I work for government who are currently waxing lyrical on the guidelines. Seems not us tho. We can be at risk. And none of us are being allowed to home work because it's
One of this all in this together type jobs . We work on top of each other, sharing phones desks and computers. No ppe. I'm still public facing and can't get hold of union.

Similar position for my DH. It's dreadful. He's being forced to take unpaid leave. Can't get hold of the union either. ACAS were helpful by phone if you are happy to hold a while, but this is a large scale issue for a lot of people. Sadly.
