Hi there

My husband has started a new job and in the interview and his contract say that the role is work from home. Now he has started he is expected to be in the office full time. Is that allowed? Is there anything he can do? Thanks

They can change his place of work with notice but while he officially is home based he can claim travel expenses and time. Would he not have taken the job if office based?

No he wouldn’t, as he worked from home in the role he left. They have not told him in writing he must work from the office.

Is it just because he is new? We require new entrants to be office based for a period while they are training and getting to know their way around and who everyone is, after which we offer home working,

I imagine it's just during the initial few weeks while he's building relationships with colleagues and learning the ropes. Or have they told him there no chance of working from home?

They aren’t being very clear....! We will see...🤪
