Changing jobs at 16 weeks pregnant

Hi all,

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. In February I left my job as a health visitor in one NHS trust to try a career in neonatal nursing in another trust. I've since decided it's not for me and am going to return to my old job in January when I will be about 16 weeks. Baby is due early June, will I qualify for maternity pay? I know it needs to be 26 weeks continuous employment in one job but I've been with the NHS for 9 years. Anyone else been through anything similar? X

Did you get a p45?

If you did, then it will not be continuous employment so therefore you will not be entitled.

I’m just about to leave one nhs trust for another and will be 16 weeks pregnant. I’ve been told by payroll I’ll get occupational pay and can claim mat allowance. You won’t be entitled to SMP.

I would check before you change jobs, speak to the HR department in the new job before leaving the old one.
